Teen Group Life Skills

Through guided horse-based activities in a supportive group environment, teens are encouraged to develop greater self-awareness, confidence, communication skills, emotional regulation, and healthy relationship dynamics.

Closed 6-Week Program

Once the group is formed, no new participants join, allowing for a safe and supportive environment with more tailored outcomes.

Flexible weekly group sessions that participants can join throughout the year, providing support, connection & personal development within a welcoming group environment.

Note: While Indigo Horse Centre is not focused on competitive riding, participants who wish to further develop their riding skills can do so under the guidance of experienced riding instructor Jessica Prince, based on the same property.

Horse Skills & Pony Play

Horse Skills: Ages 8–19 | Pony Play: Ages 3–7

Monday to Saturday: 09h00 – 17h00

R450/hour | R350/45 mins

Our individual horse-assisted sessions offer children and teens the opportunity to build key life skills in a peaceful & natural setting. Sessions are experiential, hands-on & designed to help participants connect with both themselves & the horses in a gentle, supportive & engaging way.

Participants learn:

- Horse care, grooming & handling

- Emotional awareness & self-confidence

- Focus, patience & adaptability

- Healthy boundaries & communication

- Riding basics & movement-based exercises

- Empathy, nurturing & responsibility

Equine-Assisted Learning & Psychotherapy

Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experiential learning approach where horses become part of the personal development process. EAL can support leadership development, communication, team building, parenting workshops, children & teen life skills & bully-proofing programs.

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) works on a deeper emotional and therapeutic level, with sessions co-facilitated alongside qualified psychologists & equine specialists. EAP can support individuals, couples, parents, children & families through meaningful therapeutic experiences guided by both horses and professionals.
